1. “I’m interested in booking with you but would like to get more information first. Can you tell me a little more about what I should expect?”
A – We can schedule a consultation at your convenience. You can tell me all about your expectations and I can tell you how I work. I have sample albums, a portfolio of printed images, and canvas prints for you to view. I also love meeting new clients and hearing how awesome their wedding day is going to be. Out of town clients can schedule phone consultations or skype meetings.
2. “If I chose to book with you, what are my next steps?”
A – I require a signed contract and a deposit to ensure your date is saved. The deposit is half of the total price and is non-refundable. It goes towards the total price of your package. I only accept check and cash.
3. “What kind of equipment do you carry?”
A – I always carry two professional DSLR Canon cameras. I have a wide range of lenses, several flashes, lots of memory cards, and an external battery pack. I often bring my studio lights for formals. It makes a world of difference, and set up time is less than 10 minutes. Sometimes I bring my medium format camera and shoot film. Please inquire to learn more and see samples.
4. “What is your post production process? Do you retouch all the images?”
A – I shoot thousands of images on the day of your wedding. I then narrow it down to the best images and all of these are processed for color, contrast, and sharpness.I also do black and white duplicates.
5. “How many images will I receive?”
A – I shoot a lot, but somewhere in the range of 800-1,000, plus duplicate black and white images. I shoot more than I ever have before, and with the additional images my assistant photographs you’ll have a wide selection of images to tell your wedding day story. The more hours I shoot the more images, around 150 images per hour after filtering out unwanted photographs.
6. “What rights do I have in regards to the images I will receive?
A – You will be given a signed print release that will allow you to print unlimited photographs for an unlimited time frame. I also allow you to freely use them on your social networking sites. You may not sell or profit from the images or publish them.You may contact me if you have a publishing opportunity and I will be glad to supply the images.
7. “Do you travel outside of Richmond, VA?”
A- Yes! I love to travel. I’ve done weddings in Charlottesville, VA Beach,southern VA and even Philadelphia. Weddings an hour or more outside ofRichmond have a flat $150 travel fee within VA. Other locations are quoted on an individual basis.
8. “Do you have liability insurance?”
A – yes! If anything happens where I am liable I will take full responsibility.Many venues require that the photographer have liability insurance as well.
9. “How long will it take to receive the images?”
A – Typical turn around is 2-4 weeks. Depending on the season it can be less or more.
10. “Is there anything that I can provide to you that will help you photograph my wedding more efficiently?”
A – I always ask for a formal shot list. I provide a shot list guideline. Having this list ensures that important photographs are not overlooked. I also have a F.A.Q page that lets you know what to expect on the day of. An optional questionnaire is provided to help me know what kinds of shots are important to you, as well as important persons. I also request a schedule so I know what is happening and when. I don’t want to miss a thing!
11. “If I don’t book a package with an album can I order one after my wedding?”
A- Yes, you can order an album a la carte after your wedding. To ensure that you get your album at the current price it needs to be written into the contract. Prices typically change annually as the album company increases their price, so please be aware that prices may change.
I offer many green options. All products are handmade. DVD cases and mini albums handmade by Etsy provider. All other albums made in the USA.
